Abstract
(EN) Apparatus and method for reducing an air interface load in a communication network. A base station is provided with a receiver adapted to receive signals from a terminal via a Dedicated Physical Control Channel (DPCCH) and a second control channel. A measuring unit measures a signal to interference ratio (SIR) of the DPCCH. An effective SIR determining unit determines an effective SIR on the basis of the measured SIR of the DPCCH and an estimate of the SIR of the second control channel. A comparison unit compares the effective SIR with a target SIR, and a power determination unit determines a power control command for controlling power usage for the DPCCH on the basis of the comparison. A transmitter sends a message to the terminal, the message including the power control command. The invention allows the DPCCH power (or DPCCH SIR) operating point to be maintained at a low level.
(FR) La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil et à un procédé permettant de réduire une charge d'interface radio dans un réseau de communication. Une station de base est pourvue d'un récepteur conçu pour recevoir des signaux provenant d'un terminal par l'intermédiaire d'un canal de commande physique dédié (DPCCH) et d'un second canal de commande. Une unité de mesure mesure un rapport signal/brouillage (SIR) du canal DPCCH. Une unité de détermination du rapport SIR efficace détermine un rapport SIR efficace en se basant sur le rapport SIR mesuré du canal DPCCH et une estimation du rapport SIR du second canal de commande. Une unité de comparaison compare le rapport SIR efficace à un rapport SIR cible, et une unité de détermination de puissance détermine une commande de régulation de puissance permettant de réguler l'utilisation de la puissance du canal DPCCH en se basant sur la comparaison. Un émetteur envoie un message au terminal, le message comportant la commande de régulation de puissance. L'invention permet que le point de fonctionnement de la puissance du canal DPCCH (ou du rapport SIR du canal DPCCH) soit maintenu à un niveau bas.
