Lichtleiterplatten, die an ihren Kanten beleuchtet werden und die das an den Kanten eingespeiste Licht über mindestens einer der beiden senkrecht zu den Kanten stehenden Oberflächen wieder abgeben, die für die Hinterleuchtung von LCD Bildschirmen, sowie von Hinweis- und Reklame schildern geeignet sind, werden zur Verfügung gestellt. Damit das an der Kante eingespeiste Licht einer Lichtquelle die Lichtleiterplatte durch Überwindung der Totalreflexion über eine der Oberflächen wieder verlassen kann, müssen die Lichtstrahlen in der Lichtleiterplatte gezielt ausgelenkt werden. Die Lichtleiterplatten sind an einer der beiden Oberflächen der Lichtleiterplatte mit optischen Störstellen (2) versehen, die durch eine Folie (5) vor Beschädigung geschützt werden. Zusätzlich wird ein Verfahren zum vereinfachten Aufbringen dieser Störstellen zur Verfügung gestellt.

The invention relates to light guide plates, which are suitable for backlighting LCD monitors as well as information and advertising signs and which are illuminated at the edges and re-emit the light fed at the edges via at least one of the two surfaces located perpendicular to the edges. For the light of a light source that is fed at the edges to be able to leave the light guide plate again via one of the surfaces by overcoming total reflection, the light rays in the light guide plate have to be deliberately deflected. At one of the two surfaces of the light guide plate, the light guide plates are provided with optical impurities (2), which are protected against damage by a film (5). Furthermore, a method for the simplified application of said impurities is provided.

La présente invention concerne des plaques guides de lumière qui sont éclairées à leurs bords et qui renvoient la lumière fournie à leurs bords par le biais d'au moins une des deux faces perpendiculaires aux bords. Lesdites plaques guides de lumière sont appropriées pour le rétroéclairage d'écrans LCD ainsi que celui de panneaux d'avertissement et de publicité. L'invention vise à ce que la lumière d'une source lumineuse fournie au bord puisse quitter de nouveau la plaque guide de lumière par l'une des faces, et ce par suppression de la réflexion totale. A cette fin, les rayons lumineux doivent être déviés avec précision dans la plaque guide de lumière. Les plaques guides de lumière sont pourvues, sur une de leurs deux faces, d'irrégularités optiques (2) qui sont protégées par un film (5) contre des détériorations. La présente invention concerne également un procédé permettant une application simplifiée de ces irrégularités.
