Abstract:
(EN) A method of controlling the codec mode of a convergence internet protocol (IP) network and a terminal using the method are provided. The terminal may include a variable bit-rate/mode codec controller including a channel status measurement and management (CSMM) unit which measures the status of a wireless channel and provides the results of the measuring of the wireless channel status as channel quality information, and which measures the transfer performance of a received packet and provides the results of the measuring of the packet transfer performance as packet measurement parameter information, and a service quality control (SQC) unit which measures the quality of a multimedia service based on the channel quality information and the packet measurement parameter information, provides the results of the measuring of the multimedia service quality as service quality information and determines a codec mode of the terminal or a counterpart terminal communicating with the all-IP terminal based on the service quality information. Therefore, it is possible to improve the quality of multimedia services.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé servant à contrôler le mode de codec d'un réseau de protocole Internet (IP) de convergence et un terminal utilisant le procédé. Le terminal peut comprendre un contrôleur de débit binaire/de mode de codec variable comprenant une unité de mesure et de gestion de l'état des canaux (CSMM) qui mesure l'état d'un canal sans fil et fournit les résultats de la mesure de l'état du canal sans fil sous forme d'informations sur la qualité des canaux, et qui mesure la performance du transfert d'un paquet reçu et fournit les résultats de la mesure de la performance du transfert de paquet sous forme d'informations sur le paramètre de mesure de paquet, et une unité de contrôle de la qualité de service (SQC) qui mesure la qualité d'un service multimédia en se basant sur les informations sur la qualité des canaux et les informations sur le paramètre de mesure de paquet , fournit les résultats de la mesure de la qualité de service multimédia sous forme d'informations de qualité de service et détermine un mode de codec du terminal ou d'un terminal homologue communiquant avec le terminal tout IP en se basant sur les informations de qualité de service. Ainsi, il est possible d'améliorer la qualité de services multimédias.
