Procédé de contrôle de la vitesse d'une impulsion laser comprenant : - une étape d'application d'un chirp à l'impulsion (IL 0 ) ; et - une étape de focalisation de l'impulsion au moyen d'un système optique (SOC) présentant une aberration chromatique longitudinale ; moyennant quoi un pic d'intensité de l'impulsion (IL CPLC ) se déplace le long d'un axe de propagation (z) suivant, sur une longueur de propagation z R e finie, un profil de vitesse fonction dudit chirp et de ladite aberration chromatique longitudinale. Utilisation d'un tel procédé pour l'accélération de particules par laser. Système pour la mise en oeuvre d'un tel procédé.
