There is provided a waterproof connector including a plurality of terminals (1) from which stabilizers (3) for preventing reverse-insertion project, a connector housing (10) having terminal containing chambers (11) and a seal mount (12), and a mat seal (20) made of an elastic material, having through-holes (23) into which the respective terminals and electric wires can be fitted, fitted to the seal mount of the connector housing before the terminals are inserted into the terminal containing chambers, and making close contact with the outer peripheries of the electric wires to waterproof between the connector housing and the electric wires. The inner peripheral surface of each through-hole of the mat seal (20) has, at the first half thereof in the direction in which the terminal and the electric wire are press-fitted, an electric wire seal part (25) and also has, at the last half thereof, a reverse-insertion prevention part (24).

La présente invention porte sur un connecteur étanche à l'eau qui comporte des bornes (1) à partir desquelles font saillie des stabilisateurs (3) servant à empêcher une insertion inverse, un boîtier de connecteur (10) comportant des chambres de réception de borne (11) et une section de montage de joint d'étanchéité (12), et un joint d'étanchéité sous forme de nappe (20) se composant d'un matériau élastique, ce joint comportant des trous traversants (23) dans lesquels peuvent être adaptés les bornes et les fils électriques, étant monté dans la section de montage de joint du boîtier de connecteur avant l'insertion des bornes dans les chambres de réception de borne, et étant en contact étroit avec les périphéries externes des fils électriques pour assurer une étanchéité à l’eau entre le boîtier de connecteur et les fils électriques. La surface périphérique interne de chaque trou traversant du joint d’étanchéité sous forme de nappe (20) comporte, au niveau de sa première moitié dans la direction dans laquelle la borne et le fil électrique sont ajustés avec serrage, une section formant joint d'étanchéité de fil électrique (25) et comporte également, au niveau de son autre moitié, une section d’interdiction d'insertion inverse (24).
