Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed is a process for the preparation of shaped articles such as, for example, sheeting, films, tubes, bottles, preforms and profiles, having high transparency and low haze, and comprising immiscible blends of at least one polyester comprising 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-l ,3-cyclobutanediol, and a copolyamide or a transamidized, homogeneous blend of a least two polyamides. The components of the immiscible blend have refractive indices which differ by about 0.006 to about -0.0006. The small difference in the refractive indices enable the incorporation of regrind into the polymer composition to produce transparent shaped articles. These articles may have one or more layers and can exhibit improved excellent barrier properties and good melt processability while retaining excellent mechanical properties. Metal catalysts can be incorporated into the compositions to produce shaped articles having oxygen-scavenging properties.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un procédé de préparation d'articles en forme tels que des feuilles, des films, des tubes, des préformes et des profilés, à forte transparence et faible voilage consistant en un mélange non miscible d'un polyester de 2,2,4,4-tetraméthyl-l,3-cyclobutanediol et d'une copolyamide, ou en un mélange transamidisé homogène d'au moins deux polyamides. Les composants du mélange non miscible ont des indices de réfraction allant d'environ 0,006 à environ 0,0006. Les faibles différences entre les indices de réfraction permettent d'incorporer des composants rebroyés à la composition de polymère pour produire les articles transparents en forme en une ou plusieurs couches présentant d'excellentes propriétés de barrière et une bonne ouvrabilité à l'état fondu, tout en conservant d'excellentes propriétés mécaniques. On peut incorporer aux compositions des catalyseurs métalliques pour produire des articles piégeant l'oxygène.
