The present invention relates to novel methods and apparatus for improving the sensitivity of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). The invention particularly concerns devices comprising a channel that contains an in-line sol-gel column to concentrate samples being subjected to capillary zone electrophoresis, and the use of such devices to enhance the sensitivity of capillary zone electrophoresis.

L'invention concerne des procédés et des appareils permettant d'améliorer la sensibilité de l'électrophorèse capillaire de zone (CZE). L'invention concerne plus précisément des dispositifs comprenant un canal renfermant une colonne sol-gel en ligne permettant de concentrer des échantillons soumis à une électrophorèse capillaire de zone et l'utilisation de tels dispositifs aux fins d'amélioration de la sensibilité de l'électrophorèse capillaire de zone.
