Abstract
(EN) An network management system (NMS) architecture is disclosed that takes advantage of intelligence capable network devices for network monitoring and control. NMS functions may be distributed where possible to intelligent devices where local storage and processing may be performed. Local collection and processing of monitoring information may reduce NMS-related network traffic, permit continuing local control and operation during times of network communication disruption with the central NMS, and permit greater reliability in data collection and execution of network functions such as the enforcement of security policy at the respective intelligent devices.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une architecture de système de gestion de réseau (NMS) qui tire avantage de dispositifs de réseau intelligents pour contrôler et commander un réseau. Des fonctions NMS peuvent être distribuées dans la mesure du possible à des dispositifs intelligents où un stockage et un traitement locaux peuvent être réalisés. La collecte et le traitement locaux d'information de contrôle peuvent réduire le trafic sur le réseau lié à NMS, permettre une commande et un fonctionnement locaux continus lors d'une interruption de communication de réseau avec le NMS central et permettre une plus grande fiabilité de la collecte de données et de l'exécution de fonctions de réseau telles que l'application d'une politique de sécurité au niveau des dispositifs intelligents respectifs.
