Abstract
(EN) Disclosed is a touch input device that determines touch position by sensing vibrations propagating in a touch plate that are indicative of a touch to the touch plate. Vibration sensing devices such as piezoelectric sensors are used to sense the vibrations. Selecting the size, shape, placement position and orientation of the sensors on the touch plate can enhance sensitivity of the sensors to vibration and yield symmetric response with respect to the direction of vibration propagation. Also disclosed is a method of making a vibration sensing touch input device.
(FR) Cette invention concerne un dispositif d'entrée tactile qui détermine une position de contact au moyen de la détection de vibrations qui se propagent dans une plaque de contact et qui indiquent un contact sur la plaque de contact. Des dispositifs de détection de vibrations, tels que des capteurs piézoélectriques, sont utilisés pour détecter les vibrations. Le fait de sélectionner la taille, la forme, la position de placement et l'orientation des capteurs sur la plaque de contact permet d'accroître la sensibilité des capteurs à l'égard des vibrations et de générer une réponse symétrique par rapport à la direction de propagation des vibrations. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication d'un dispositif d'entrée tactile à détection de vibrations.
