Claims

1. A biotinylated peptide having the following amino acid sequence:


  2. A biotinylated peptide according to claim 1, whereby the two cysteine (C) residues present in the amino acid sequence are covalently linked to form an intramolecular cysteine bridge.
  3. A biotinylated peptide according to any of claims 1 to 2, whereby the biotinyl moiety is complexed to a streptavidin or avidin molecule.
  4. A peptide composition comprising a biotinylated peptide according to any of claims 1 to 3, in combination with any other MVV peptide or recombinant protein.
  5. A peptide composition according to claim 4 comprising a biotinylated peptide according to any of claims 1 to 3 in combination with a recombinant MVV gag (p25) polypeptide, or a fragment thereof, more specifically, in combination with the recombinant MVV p25 protein as represented by SEQ ID NO 88 (figure 2).
  6. Use of a biotinylated peptide or peptide compositions according to any of claims 1 to 3 or claims 4 to 5 for the immunodetection of MVV or CAEV infection.
  7. Use of a biotinylated peptide or peptide compositions according to any of claims 1 to 5 in a kit for the immunodetection of MVV or CAEV infection.
  8. A solid support upon which a biotinylated peptide according to any of claims 1 to 3, or a peptide composition according to any of claims 4 to 5, has been immobilized.
  9. A method for the immunodetection of MVV infection or CAEV infection in mammals, comprising the steps of:

- contacting a biological sample from said mammal with a biotinylated peptide according to any of claims I to 3, or with a peptide composition according to any of claims 4 to 5, under conditions allowing the formation of an immunological complex, and

- detecting the presence of an immunological complex formed between said biotinylated peptide or said peptide composition and the anti-MVV or anti-CAEV antibodies which may be present in the sample.


  10. An immunodiagnostic kit for the detection of MVV infection or CAEV infection in mammals, said kit comprising a biotinylated peptide according to any of claims 1 to 3, or a peptide composition according to any of claims 4 to 5.
