Abstract
(EN) A series of electroactive insertion compounds, LiMyIIMzIIIMn1IIIMnqIVO4 (0$m(f)y+z$m(F)0.5, y+z+1+q=2), where M = any transition metal or combination of metals, for application in non-aqueous batteries, capacitors, and superconducting materials, are disclosed. These newly synthesized compounds are unique in that they contain at least two mixed valence elements, thereby allowing the reversible intercalation of lithium cations at potentials near 4.7-5.1 V vs. lithium. Also disclosed are novel copper insertion compounds of the formula LiMyCu0.5-yMn1.5O4 (0$m(F)y$m(F)0.49), where M = one or more metals or transition metals. Such materials have also been found to be remarkably stable at this voltage upon repeated cycling.
(FR) On décrit une série de composés d'insertion électroactifs, LiMyIIMzIIIMn1IIIMnqIVO4 (0$m(f)y+z$m(F)0,5, y+z+l+q=2), dans lesquels M représente n'importe quel métal de transition ou n'importe quelle combinaison de métaux. Ces composés sont destinés à être utilisés dans des accumulateurs non aqueux, des condensateurs et des matériaux supraconducteurs. Ces composés nouvellement synthétisés sont uniques en ce qu'ils contiennent au moins deux éléments à valence composée, ceci permettant d'intercaler de manière réversible des cations lithium à des potentiels proches de 4,7-5,1 volts contre les potentiels du lithium. On décrit également de nouveaux composés d'insertion en cuivre de formule LiMyCu0,5-yMn1,5O4 (O$m(F)y$m(F)0,49), M représentant dans la formule un ou plusieurs métaux ou métaux de transition. On a également remarqué que ces matériaux étaient remarquablement stables à cette tension lorsqu'ils sont soumis à un usage répété.
