An ultrasonic detector (10) suitable for mounting in a position for surveying an area for a source of airborne ultrasound, which detector comprises: a plurality of sensors (20; 110) for detecting an ultrasonic sound signal, each sensor of said plurality of sensors comprising a sensing face (30; 116); a housing (12) comprising a convex external surface; wherein said plurality of sensors (20; 110) is arranged on said convex external surface so that each sensing face (30; 116) is oriented in a direction different to every other sensing face.

L’invention concerne un détecteur ultrasonique (10) qui peut être monté en position afin de surveiller une zone et détecter une source d’ultrasons portés par l’air, lequel détecteur comprend un capteur (20) pour détecter un signal de son ultrasonique, caractérisé par un transducteur (64) conçu pour générer un signal de son ultrasonique en bande large qui sera reçu par ledit capteur (20), ce qui permet audit détecteur ultrasonique d’effectuer un autotest.
