Abstract
(EN) A bi-directional optical scanning system includes a spring-stiffened, taut-band mechanical subsystem that translates rotational motion of a servo-controlled actuator to translational (scan line or ' fast axis') motion of a sample relative to a stationary objective lens. A first taut steel band attaches to a first end of a shuttle that moves the sample over the fast axis. The band then wraps partially in one direction around a lightweight wheel that is rotated by the servo-controlled actuator. The second end of theband attaches to a pre-loaded spring that is, in turn, attached to the wheel. A second taut steel band wraps partially around the wheel in the opposite direction, with one end of the band attached to the wheel and the other end attached to a second end of the shuttle. When the wheel rotates in one direction, the shuttle moves forward, or backward in the other direction.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un système de balayage optique bidirectionnel qui comporte un sous-système à ruban tendu et à tension exercée par un ressort, qui transforme le mouvement rotatif d'un actionneur asservi en mouvement de translation (ligne de balayage ou 'axe rapide') d'un échantillon par rapport à un objectif fixe. Un premier ruban d'acier est fixé à une première extrémité d'une navette qui déplace l'échantillon sur l'axe rapide. Puis le ruban s'enroule partiellement dans un sens autour d'une roue de faible poids qui est mise en rotation par l'actionneur asservi. La seconde extrémité du ruban est fixée à un ressort préchargé qui est, à son tour, fixé à la roue. Un second ruban d'acier tendu s'enroule partiellement autour de la roue dans le sens opposé, une des extrémités de la bande étant fixée à la roue et l'autre extrémité étant fixée à une seconde extrémité de la navette. Lorsque la roue tourne dans un sens, la navette se déplace vers l'avant ou vers l'arrière dans l'autre direction.
