Claims

1. Process of disposing of dangerous material containing explosive and poisonous substances, in which the dangerous material is fed through a lock chamber into an explosion and combustion chamber and is exploded and/or burned and/or subjected to pyrolysis there in a vacuum,
characterized

in that a scrap reservoir is formed and maintained on the base of the explosion and combustion chamber,

in that the dangerous material is exploded and/or burned and/or subjected to pyrolysis above the scrap reservoir,

in that the scrap reservoir is constantly kept at a temperature of at least 200°C during operation of the chamber, and

in that the gaseous products of explosion or combustion are discharged from the explosion and combustion chamber solely through the scrap reservoir.


  2. Process according to Claim 1, characterized in that the scrap reservoir is formed by scrap collecting during the explosion and/or combustion or is supplemented with said scrap and is constantly kept between a minimum and maximum value by drawing off said scrap from the chamber.
  3. Process according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a vacuum of at least 200 millibar is constantly maintained in the explosion and combustion chamber during operation.
  4. Process according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the scrap drawn off from the chamber is fed to an annealing station, and the gaseous products of explosion or combustion are fed to a chemical and/or thermal secondary-treatment plant.
  5. Process according to Claim 4, characterized in that the gases being released or arising during the annealing are fed to the chemical and/or thermal secondary-treatment plant.
  6. Explosion and combustion chamber for disposing of dangerous material containing explosive and poisonous substances by exploding, burning and/or subjecting to pyrolysis, having at least one lock chamber (7) and a connected system for producing a vacuum, for carrying out the Process according to one of the preceding claims,
characterized

in that it has an action chamber (10), serving for the exploding, burning and/or subjecting to pyrolysis,

in that between the action chamber (10) and the base of the explosion and combustion chamber there is a space for maintaining a scrap reservoir (11),

in that a burner (12) is effective in the region of the scrap reservoir (11),

in that the connection to the vacuum system (13) is located in the region below the scrap reservoir (11) or in the bottom part of the scrap reservoir (11), and

in that the remaining region of the explosion and combustion chamber is screened off from the scrap reservoir (11) and the action chamber (10) by at least one suppression body (14).


  7. Explosion and combustion chamber according to Claim 6, characterized in that the chamber is of elongated design, the longitudinal axis running vertically and the suppression body or bodies (14) being arranged centrally above the scrap reservoir (11).
  8. Explosion and combustion chamber according to Claim 6 or 7, characterized in that a guide device (16) narrowing in a funnel shape towards the bottom is provided in the region between the scrap reservoir (11) and the suppression body or bodies (14).
  9. Explosion and combustion chamber according to one of Claims 6 to 8, characterized in that rod-shaped suppression elements (15) running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chamber are arranged in the region above the suppression body or bodies (14).
  10. Explosion and combustion chamber according to one of Claims 6 to 9, characterized in that it is provided with an outlet lock (21).
