(EN) A large-pore-diameter porous hollow yarn membrane of polyethylene, which has a layered structure wherein slit-shaped micropores surrounded by microfibrils arranged in the longitudinal direction of the filament and knots composed of stacked lamellae interconnect the inner and outer wall surfaces of the hollow filament and which has an average diameter of the micropore of more than 2 mu m up to 10 mu m as measured with a mercury porosimeter, a porosity of 75 to 95 %, and an air permeation rate of 8 x 10<5> l/m<2>.hr.0.5 atm or above. This membrane is produced by melt spinning polyethylene and subjecting the obtained unstretched yarn to annealing, cold stretching and hot stretching under specified conditions.
(FR) Membrane en polyéthylène à fil creux poreux à grand diamètre de pore, ladite membrane présente une structure stratifiée dans laquelle des micropores en forme de fentes entourés par de microfibrilles agencées dans le sens longitudinal du filament ainsi que des n÷uds composés de lamelles empilées relient entre elles les surfaces des parois intérieure et extérieure du filament creux, ladite membrane ayant un diamètre moyen de micropore supérieur à 2 $g(m)m allant jusqu'à 10 $g(m) mesuré à l'aide d'un porosimètre au mercure, une porosité comprise entre 75 et 95 %, ainsi qu'une vitesse de pénétration de l'air de 8 x 105 l/m2.h.0,5 atm ou plus. La production de cette membrane consiste à procéder au filage à chaud du polyéthylène puis à soumettre le fil non étiré obtenu au recuit, à l'étirage à chaud et à l'étirage à froid dans des conditions spécifiées.
