(EN) Apparatus as described by which very low light levels emitted typically by very small regions such as individual cells in cultured monolayers, can be more readily detected by a detector such as a CCD detector or image intensifier. The light capturing aid is a fibre optic face plate located between the light emitting material and the detector, but not in contact with the light emitting material. Where the latter is contained on a surface such as a petri dish, the face plate is positioned between the dish and the detector with at least an air gap between the face plate and the detector.
(FR) Un appareil permet de détecter plus aisément des niveaux de lumière extrêmement bas émis typiquement par des régions extrêmement réduites, telles que des cellules individuelles dans des couches uniques de culture, au moyen d'un détecteur tel qu'un détecteur CCD ou un intensificateur d'image. L'élément capteur de lumière est une plaque frontale à fibres optiques située entre le matériau photo-émetteur et le détecteur, sans entrer en contact avec le matériau photo-émetteur. Lorsque ce dernier est situé sur une surface, telle qu'une boîte de Petri, la plaque frontale est agencée entre la boîte et le détecteur, avec au moins une couche d'air intermédiaire entre la plaque frontale et le détecteur.
