Abstract
(EN) A manifold (10) for a bank of four cylinders of an engine, comprises four primary tracts (20, 22) each leading to a respective cylinder and two secondary tracts (24, 26) each connected at a respective one of two branching points (16, 18) to a respective pair of primary tracts (20, 22) which lead to cylinders of which the combustion cycles are in antiphase. The two branching points (16, 18) are arranged adjacent one another to form a decoupling chamber within which there is disposed a valve (30) connecting the two branching points. The resonant frequency of the manifold can be changed by opening and closing the valve (30).
(FR) Un collecteur (10) pour un bloc de quatre cylindres d'un moteur, comprend quatre conduits principaux (20, 22) conduisant chacun à un cylindre respectif et deux conduits secondaires (24, 26) dont chacun est relié, au niveau d'un point d'embranchement respectif parmi deux points d'embranchement (16, 18), à une paire respective de conduits principaux (20, 22) conduisant à des cylindres dont les cycles de combustion sont en opposition de phase. Les deux points d'embranchement (16, 18) sont disposés l'un à proximité de l'autre pour former une chambre de découplage à l'intérieur de laquelle est disposée une soupape (30) reliant les deux points d'embranchement. La fréquence de résonance du collecteur peut être modifiée en ouvrant et en fermant la soupape (30).
