Claims

1. Profile for fixing at least one electrical appliance having a transverse cross-section shaped so as to delineate a cavity (4) communicating with the outside via at least one longitudinal opening (3) arranged in a main surface (2) of the profile, and comprising first and second longitudinal and electrically conducting power supply rails (19a, 19b) arranged in the cavity (4) on each side of the longitudinal opening (3) and electrically insulated from one another, said first and second rails (19a, 19b) each comprising a bearing surface (15a, 15b) parallel to the main surface (2), characterized in that the bearing surfaces (15a, 15b) of the first and second rails (19a, 19b) are arranged in different planes.
  2. Profile according to claim 1, characterized in that each edge of the longitudinal opening (3) comprises a rim (20a, 20b) in the direction of the bottom (13) of the cavity (4), said rim (20a, 20b) having a larger height than the thickness of the first and second rails (19a, 19b).
  3. Installation characterized in that it comprises:

- at least one profile according to one of claims 1 and 2,

- an electric current source (12) comprising two power supply terminals respectively connected to the first and second rails (19a, 19b) of the profile (1), at least one set comprising first and second electrically conducting support elements (5a, 5b), each support element (5a, 5b) being provided with a first bearing area (16a) and a second bearing area (16b) respectively in contact with the first rail (9a) and the second rail (19b), one of the bearing areas (16a, 16b) of each support element (5a, 5b) being formed by an electrically insulating element, the electrically insulating element of the first support element (5a) being in contact with the first rail (19a), and the electrically insulating element of the second support element (5b) being in contact with the second rail (19b), the set comprising at least one electric appliance fixed to the profile by the first and second support elements (5a, 5b) and electrically supplied by the first and second rails (19a, 19b).


  4. Installation according to claim 3, characterized in that the first and second support elements (5a, 5b) each comprise an elongate main body (8) connected at one of the ends thereof to a bar (18) perpendicular to said main body (8), said bar (18) comprising two rims (17a, 17b), on each side of the main body (8), parallel to the main body (8) and each comprising a surface perpendicular to the main body (8) defining the corresponding bearing areas (16a, 16b), one of the rims (17a, 17b) constituting the electrically insulating element being made from insulating material.
  5. Installation according to claim 4, characterized in that, in a plane perpendicular to the main body (8), the bar (18) of each support element (5a, 5b) has a smaller width than the width of the longitudinal opening (3).
  6. Installation according to any one of claims 3 to 5, characterized in that it comprises error prevention means so that two support elements (5a, 5b) of a set are electrically connected to different rails (19a, 19b).
  7. Installation according to claim 6, characterized in that the error prevention means comprise the rims (17a, 17b) of the bars (18) of the support elements (5a, 5b), the rims (17a, 17b) of one and the same bar (18) having different heights.
  8. Installation according to claim 6, characterized in that the error prevention means comprise the rims (20a, 20b) of the longitudinal opening (3) and the rims (17a, 17b) of the bars (18) of the support elements (5a, 5b), the rims (17a, 17b) of one and the same bar (18) having different heights.
