Vorgeschlagen wird ein Verfahren zum Einstellen einer Blickrichtung in einer Darstellung einer virtuellen Umgebung. Das Verfahren beinhaltet ein Aufnehmen eines bekannten Objektes in einer realen Umgebung mit einer Aufnahmevorrichtung. Weiterhin beinhaltet das Verfahren ein Bestimmen eines Rotationsversatzes der Blickrichtung in der Darstellung der virtuellen Umgebung um eine Gierachse der Darstellung der virtuellen Umgebung basierend auf der Aufnahme des Objekts, einer bekannten Position der Aufnahmevorrichtung in der realen Umgebung und einer momentanen Blickrichtung in der Darstellung der virtuellen Umgebung. Das Verfahren beinhaltet ferner ein Drehen der Blickrichtung in der Darstellung der virtuellen Umgebung um den Rotationsversatz.
