本发明涉及一种用于操作高温燃料电池的方法,在产生电能的正常模式下,该燃料电池供给有较佳为柴油的液态燃料(B),并在阳极侧前置有用于液态燃料的重整器(2),其中至少一部分的热阳极废气经由再循环管路而再循环到阳极回路中,且在重整器(2)之前的压缩机(4)的上游,液态燃料(B)被喷洒或喷射到热阳极废气中,其中重整液态燃料所需的空气量被添加到由阳极废气和燃料构成的混合物中。根据本发明,当从正常模式转变到不发电的备用模式时,停止供给液态燃料(B)和空气(L),且使位于阳极回路中的气体混合物持久地循环,规定量的空气被供给到阳极回路,以从备用模式开始从高温燃料电池(1)中去除沉积物和杂质。
