Abstract

The invention relates to a plastic rod lens provided with a cylindrical shape with a radius R. A refraction factor n<D> is gradually reduced from center axis towards outer peripheral part. And the plastic rod lens meet following requirements (1) to (3): (1) v<1> is more than or equal to 43 and less than or equal to 60; (2) |{n<A>Xv<A>/(n<A>-1)}-{n<B>Xv<B>/(n<B>-1)}| is less than 5; (3) n<0>-n<1> is more than or equal to 0.01. In the above expressions, n<1>, n<0>, n<A>, and n<B> respectively represents the outer peripheral part, center, refraction factor n<D> at any point A and any point B of the plastic rod lens; and v<1>, v<A>, and v<B> respectively represents the outer peripheral part, Abbe's number v at any point A and any point B of the plastic rod lens.
