The utility model relates to a battery module and a battery pack, the battery module comprises a plurality of battery monomers and a fireproof component, and each battery monomer is provided with an explosion-proof valve; the explosion-proof valves of the plurality of single batteries all face the fireproof component; the fireproof component comprises a fireproof component main body and a first extension part connected to one end of the fireproof component main body; and/or the fireproof component comprises a fireproof component main body and a second extension part connected to the other endof the fireproof component. According to the utility model, the fireproof component is adopted; when thermal runaway happens to the single batteries; flame and fire particles sprayed by the explosion-proof valves of the single batteries are blocked by the fireproof component main body and the first extension part and/or the second extension part, so that the sprayed flame and fire particles are prevented from burning the adjacent single batteries, and the single batteries subjected to thermal runaway are prevented from causing thermal runaway of the adjacent single batteries opposite to the explosion-proof valves of the single batteries.
