The invention relates to an air conditioner and a control method thereof. The air conditioner comprises a compressor and an exhaust gas sensor for detecting the exhaust gas temperature of the compressor. The control method comprises the steps that the outdoor ambient temperature where the air conditioner is located and the initial temperature measured by the exhaust gas sensor are obtained after the air conditioner is started and before the compressor is started; whether the exhaust gas sensor is damaged or not is determined according to the initial temperature and the outdoor ambient temperature; if the exhaust gas sensor is not damaged, the compressor is controlled to be started and continuously run for a first preset duration; and whether the exhaust gas sensor falls or not or whether the exhaust gas sensor is not installed in place or not is determined according to the initial temperature, the outdoor ambient temperature and the exhaust gas temperature obtained after the compressorcontinuously operates for the first preset duration. According to the air conditioner and the control method, any fault may occurring in the exhaust gas sensor is comprehensively checked, the accuracy of the exhaust gas sensor to obtain the exhaust gas temperature is ensured, a user or maintenance personnel can conveniently and quickly determine the fault type of the exhaust gas sensor, and quickrepairing in a targeted manner is facilitated.

本发明涉及一种空调器及其控制方法,空调器具有压缩机以及用于检测压缩机排气温度的排气传感器。该控制方法包括:在空调器开机后、且压缩机启动之前,获取空调器所处的室外环境温度以及排气传感器所测得的初始温度;根据初始温度和室外环境温度判断排气传感器是否损坏;若排气传感器没有损坏,则控制压缩机启动,并连续运行第一预设时长;根据初始温度、室外环境温度、以及压缩机连续运行第一预设时长后的排气温度判断排气传感器是否脱落或未安装到位。本发明全面地排查了排气传感器可能出现的任何故障,从而确保了排气传感器获得排气温度的准确性,且便于用户或维修人员快速地判断排气传感器的故障类型,以便于有针对性地快速检修。
