The method (300) further includes determining a second temperature (T2) for a second fuel volume (V2) included in a second section (252) of the high pressure fuelsystem (250), where the second section (252) includes at least one fuel injector (271, 272, 273,..., 27n) arranged in a cylinder head (280) of the engine (101). The method (300) also includes the step of determining the temperature (Ttot) for the pressurized fuel based at least on the first temperature (T1) and on the second temperature (T2); Ttot=f(T1, T2).
