(EN) A cup bearing (13a) is assembled inside a circular hole (11c) of a linking arm part (10c) constituting part of a yoke, after which a notch (25) having a V shape in a cross section is formed in a portion of the outer-side surface of the linking arm part (10c) that is near the periphery of the circular hole (11c). A thin part (27) having a substantial trapezoid shape in a cross section, the thin part (27) being formed in the radially inward portion of the notch (25) in the open edge part of the circular hole (11c), is then elastically deformed radially inward to form a crimped part (14a). Achieved thereby are a method for assembling a cruciform universal joint, and a cruciform universal joint, with which a crimped part for preventing a cup bearing from falling out can be formed without complicating the work of crimping.
