(EN) The display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with: a first driving unit that sequentially selects pixels in a row unit; and a second driving unit that applies avideo signal via a signal line to each pixel in a pixel row selected by the first driving unit and that inverts the polarity of the video signal at predetermined cycles. Before applying a signal voltage, the second driving unit sequentially applies, to the signal line, a first pre-charge signal voltage having a relatively large amplitude and a second pre-charge signal voltage having a relatively small amplitude. Further, the second driving unit controls application of the first pre-charge signal voltage such that the amount of current leakage from the pixels to the signal line, which is causedby application of the first pre-charge signal voltage, in each predetermined horizontal period becomes smaller than those in other periods.
