(EN) An optical scanning device according to the present invention has: a light source unit that emits a light beam; a light deflection unit that two-dimensionally deflects the light beam in a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction; and an image forming unit that forms an image through two-dimensional scanning using the light beam performed by thelight deflection unit. A flat plate through which light incident on the light deflection unit and deflected and reflected light from the light deflection unit are transmitted is arranged on an optical path of the light beam between the light deflection unit and the image forming unit, and the flat plate is inclined with respect to the image forming unit within a cross-section in the sub-scanningdirection. Thus, even if unwanted light enters, an intermediate image of high contrast can be formed, and a virtual image of high image quality can be stably displayed.
