Abstract
(EN) Provided is a surface property inspection method for non-destructively determining whether heat treatment has been appropriately carried out on a steel product that has been subjected to surface treatment. A surface property inspection device is used that is provided with: an AC bridge circuit; an AC power supply for supplying AC power to the AC bridge circuit; and an evaluation device for, on thebasis of the output signal from the AC bridge circuit, evaluating the surface properties of a specimen under inspection that is a steel product that has had surface treatment including heat treatmentapplied thereto. AC magnetism is excited in the coils of a reference detector and inspection detector included in the bridge circuit so as to induce eddy currents in a reference specimen and the specimen under inspection, and an electromagnetic characteristic of the specimen under inspection in a state where the reference detector detects a reference state is output as a first output signal. At that time, the evaluation device compares the first output signal with a first threshold and evaluates the degree of heat treatment of the specimen under inspection.
