AC magnetism is excited in the coils of a reference detector and inspection detector included in the bridge circuit so as to induce eddy currents in a reference specimen and the specimen under inspection, and an electromagnetic characteristic of the specimen under inspection in a state where the reference detector detects a reference state is output as a first output signal. At that time, the evaluation device compares the first output signal with a first threshold and evaluates the degree of heat treatment of the specimen under inspection.
