(EN) A zoom lens that has, in order along the optical axis thereof from an object side, a first lens group that has negative refractive power, a second lens group that has positive refractive power, a third lens group that has negative refractive power, a fourth lens group, and a fifth lens group. During power variation, the interval between the first lens group and the second lens group varies, the interval between the second lens group and the third lens group varies, the interval between the third lens group and the fourth lens group varies, the interval between the fourth lens group and the fifth lens group varies, the second lens group and the fourth lens group move along the optical axis across the same trajectory, and at least the third lens group moves along the optical axis.
