Abstract
(EN) In a process for producing titania slag from ilmenite, granular ilmenite first is partially reduced with a reducing agent in a reduction reactor, then the hot material with an inlet temperature of at least 550~C is transferred into an electric furnace and molten there in the presence of a reducing agent by forming liquid pig iron and titania slag. The reduction reactor consists of a circulating fluidized-bed reactor.
