(EN) A method of measuring the temperature of a high-temperature melt, comprising the steps of inserting the distal end of an optical fiber into a high- temperature melt, and converting optical signals transmitted through the optical fiber to the temperature, wherein the devitrified end of the optical fiber is cut off or the disturbance of a measurement peak due to the combustion of the fiber is eliminated. The temperature of melt is controlled near the lower limit temperature at which fluidity of the slag can be maintained. Further, the temperature measurement can be effected by a temperature measurement apparatus including a fiber insertion/pull-out mechanism and a fiber cutter.
