(EN) Methods, apparatus and systems are provided that include NFC antennas for applications in wearable mobile communication devices. In one aspect, a wearable mobile communication device includes an electronics block, or electronics body, including a processing unit for near field communications; and an adjustable strap configured to retain the electronics block when worn by a wearer. The strap includes a conductive material connected to form a coil with at least one turn and separated by a non-conductive material that configured to fill a gap between turns of the coil. The coil is electrically connected to the electronics block and comprises a near field communication (NFC) antenna.
