Abstract:
(EN) A release mechanism has two aligned members (2, 21, 29) which either hook together directly or which are coupled by an element (24, 30) which bridges and hooks onto both members. But the hooks (3, 22, 25, 30, 31) are non-positive in the sense that, when the two members are pulled axially apart, they will disengage by a wedging action. An encircling filament (9, 26, 31) normally maintains the hooked engagement and with several turns can be lightly held while substantial axial tension is applied. One end of the filament may be trapped under several turns, while the other end is retained by a trip (12, 27, 34) whose withdrawal releases the mechanism.
