PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser drive device that can highly accurately detect a scanning position with high costs curbed.

SOLUTION: An LD drive circuit 100 is a semiconductor laser drive device that drives a semiconductor laser (LD) as a light source for optical scanning, and the semiconductor laser drive device comprises: transistors Q1 and Q2 that can change over ON/OFF of electrification to the LD, respectively; a pulse generation circuit 1 that periodically outputs a first drive pulse to the transistor Q1 in a first time zone; and a pulse generation circuit 2 that outputs a second drive pulse to the transistor Q2 in a second time zone different from the first time zone.

【課題】 高コスト化を抑制しつつ走査位置を高精度に検出することができる半導体レーザ駆動装置を提供する。
【解決手段】 LD駆動回路100は、光走査用の光源としての半導体レーザ(LD)を駆動する半導体レーザ駆動装置であって、LDへの通電のON/OFFをそれぞれが切り替え可能なトランジスタQ1、Q2と、トランジスタQ1に第1の駆動パルスを第1の時間帯に周期的に出力するパルス生成回路1と、トランジスタQ2に第2の駆動パルスを第1の時間帯とは異なる第2の時間帯に出力するパルス生成回路2と、を備えている。
