Abstract:
(EN) PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus which can acquire a high-quality image by suppressing positional fluctuation of projected dots due to a positional offset of an optical path deflecting element.

SOLUTION: The image display apparatus 10 has an illumination light source, not shown, a light valve 1 for displaying an image, an optical path deflection element 2 for deflecting the optical path according to an image signal formed on the light valve 1, and a projection optical system 3. The optical deflection element 2 is arranged in the projection optical system 3. The respective positions of image height positions f 1, f 2 and f 3 on the light valve 1 are projected by being inverted like f 1', f 2' and f 3' by the projection optical system 3. The optical path is deflected by a minute angle within the optical system and is subjected to a desired image shift (a shift amount ) on a screen face 4. The image shift direction is only the one direction of a horizontal direction, perpendicular direction, a vertical or lateral direction combining these, or a diagonal direction and the higher resolution is achieved by such image shift.

【課題】光路偏向素子の位置ずれによる投射ドット位置変動を抑制でき、高品質な画像を得ることができる画像表示装置を提供する。
【解決手段】画像表示装置10は、図示しない照明光源と、画像を表示するライトバルブ1と、ライトバルブ1上に形成する画像信号に応じて光路を偏向する光路偏向素子2と、投射光学系3を有しており、光路偏向素子2は投射光学系3の内部に配置されている。
ライトバルブ1上の像高位置f1、f2、f3の各位置は、投射光学系3によりf1’、f2’、f3’のように反転して投射される。
光学系の内部で微小角度だけ光路を偏向し、スクリーン面4上で所望の画素シフト(シフト量Δ)を行う。
画素シフト方向は、水平方向や、垂直方向、それらを組み合わせた上下左右の方向、あるいは斜め方向の一方向のみであり、これらの画素シフトにより高解像化が図られる。
