Abstract
(EN) There is provided a charge switchable ion exchange (IX) resin comprising solid microparticles made of a crosslinked copolyelectrolyte, wherein the copolyelectrolyte is a reversible positive-to-neutral-to-negative charge switchable copolyelectrolyte comprising repeat units (A) bearing a positively ionizable weak base functional group and repeat units (B) bearing a negatively ionizable weak acid functional group. A method for manufacturing this resin is also provided. Methods for capturing ions from a feed, exchanging ions in a feed, for concentrating a contaminant by capturing and accumulating ions of said contaminant and then releasing and electrostatically repulsing said ions, and for regenerating the resin are also provided.
(FR) L'invention concerne une résine échangeuse d'ions (IX) à charge commutable comprenant des microparticules solides constituées d'un copolyélectrolyte réticulé, le copolyélectrolyte étant un copolyélectrolyte commutable à charge positive-neutre-négative réversible comprenant des unités de répétition (A) portant un groupe fonctionnel de base faible ionisable positivement et des unités de répétition (B) portant un groupe fonctionnel acide faible ionisable négativement. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de cette résine. L'invention concerne également des procédés de capture d'ions à partir d'une charge, d'échange d'ions dans une charge, de concentration d'un contaminant par capture et accumulation d'ions dudit contaminant, puis de libération et de répulsion électrostatique desdits ions, et de régénération de la résine.
