The invention relates to a method for predicting the life expectancy (24) of a component of an observed vehicle. A method for predicting the life expectancy (24) of a component may be achieved in that a processing unit is fed with status data (8) of components of selected vehicles. Moreover, the processing unit is fed with an operating parameter (10) for each of the components of the selected vehicles, which operating parameter (10) influences the status data (8) of the respective selected component. By the processing unit a function (16) between the operating parameter (10) and the status data (8) is determined for each of the selected components. One function (16), which fits best for the component of the observed vehicle, is selected by means of an algorithm. Further, the processing unit is fed with an operating parameter (22) of the component of the observed vehicle. Additionally, by the processing unit the life expectancy (24) of the component of the observed vehicle is predicted using the selected function (16) and the operating parameter (22) of the component of the observed vehicle.

L'invention concerne un procédé de prédiction de l'espérance de vie (24) d'un composant d'un véhicule observé. Un procédé de prédiction de l'espérance de vie (24) d'un composant peut être obtenu grâce à l'alimentation d'une unité de traitement en données d'état (8) de composants de véhicules sélectionnés. De plus, l'unité de traitement est alimentée avec un paramètre de fonctionnement (10) pour chacun des composants des véhicules sélectionnés, ledit paramètre de fonctionnement (10) influençant les données d'état (8) du composant sélectionné respectif. Par l'unité de traitement, une fonction (16) entre le paramètre de fonctionnement (10) et les données d'état (8) est déterminée pour chacun des composants sélectionnés. Une fonction (16), qui s'ajuste au mieux pour le composant du véhicule observé, est sélectionnée au moyen d'un algorithme. En outre, l'unité de traitement est alimentée avec un paramètre de fonctionnement (22) du composant du véhicule observé. En outre, par l'unité de traitement, l'espérance de vie (24) du composant du véhicule observé est prédite à l'aide de la fonction sélectionnée (16) et du paramètre de fonctionnement (22) du composant du véhicule observé.
