Abstract
(EN) A mud pulser for generating pulses in a fluid flow in a wellbore. The mud pulser has a valve housing having an uphole opening for receiving fluid flow, and a piston valve situated in a piston chamber is longitudinally moveable between an open and closed position by closing and opening a pilot port downhole of the uphole opening and in fluid communication with the piston chamber. A first channel extends in the sidewall of the valve housing and fluidly connects the uphole opening and the pilot port. One or more fluid egress ports are in communication with the piston chamber. A metering orifice may be inserted in said one or more fluid egress ports for first channel. Opening and closing the downhole pilot port moves the piston valve and thus opens and closes the uphole opening thereby generating pressure pulses in the fluid flow. A downhole valve is further disclosed.
(FR) L'invention concerne un générateur d'impulsions de boue pour générer des impulsions dans un écoulement de fluide dans un puits de forage. Le générateur d'impulsions de boue a un logement de soupape ayant une ouverture de haut de trou pour recevoir un écoulement de fluide, et une soupape à piston située dans une chambre de piston est mobile longitudinalement entre une position ouverte et une position fermée par fermeture et ouverture d'un orifice pilote en fond de trou de l'ouverture de haut de trou et en communication fluidique avec la chambre de piston. Un premier canal s'étend dans la paroi latérale du logement de soupape et relie fluidiquement l'ouverture de haut de trou et l'orifice pilote. Un ou plusieurs orifices de sortie de fluide sont en communication avec la chambre de piston. Un orifice de dosage peut être inséré dans ledit ou lesdits orifices de sortie de fluide pour le premier canal. L'ouverture et la fermeture de l'orifice pilote de fond de trou déplacent la soupape à piston et ouvrent et ferment ainsi l'ouverture de haut de trou, générant ainsi des impulsions de pression dans l'écoulement de fluide. Une soupape de fond de trou est également divulguée.
