This negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery contains graphite particles which have a Raman spectroscopy-measured R value of less than 0.27, and which, in the X-ray diffraction pattern using CuKα radiation , have an intensity ratio (P1/P2) of the diffraction peak (P1) of the hexagonal structure (101) plane and the diffraction peak (P2) of the rhombohedral structure (101) plane less than or equal to 5.0.

La présente invention concerne un matériau d'électrode négative pour une batterie secondaire au lithium-ion contenant des particules de graphite qui ont une valeur R mesurée par spectroscopie Raman inférieure à 0,27, et qui, dans le motif de diffraction des rayons X à l'aide d'un rayonnement CuKα, ont un rapport d'intensité (P1/P2) du pic de diffraction (P1) du plan (101) de structure hexagonale et du pic de diffraction (P2) du plan (101) de structure rhomboédrique inférieur ou égal à 5,0.
