There is presented a system and method for detecting mobile device fault conditions, particularly detecting defects in a display or housing of a mobile device. One or more cameras included within the mobile device are used with a reflecting surface in a test fixture to obtain properly aligned and formatted images of the external housing and display of the mobile device, and interactive guidance assists with placement and execution of diagnostics. A remote server conducts further analysis of the captured images, and then defect status may be returned to and displayed upon the mobile device screen.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé pour détecter des états de défaillance de dispositif mobile, en particulier pour détecter des défaillances dans un écran ou un boîtier d'un dispositif mobile. Une ou plusieurs caméras incluses dans le dispositif mobile sont utilisées avec une surface réfléchissante dans un appareil de test pour obtenir des images correctement alignées et formatées du boîtier externe et de l'écran du dispositif mobile, et le guidage interactif aide à la mise en place et à l'exécution de diagnostics. Un serveur distant effectue une analyse supplémentaire des images capturées, puis un état de défaillance peut être renvoyé à l'écran de dispositif mobile et affiché sur celui-ci.
