The invention discloses a method for the synthesis of hydro-talcite-like adsorbent which is in particular suitable for the adsorption of sulfur-containing anions, e.g. in the purification of drinking water. The method comprises mixing an aqueous aluminium source and aqueous magnesium source with an alkaline and/or soda containing solution under high shear agitation. As the aluminium source is used an extract derived from the extraction of clays with strong mineral acids in the production of bleaching earth. The product can be easily separated and directly used as an adsorbent for different anions.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la synthèse d'adsorbant de type hydrotalcite qui conviennent en particulier pour l'adsorption d'anions contenant du soufre, par exemple dans la purification d'eau potable. Le procédé comprend le mélange d'une source aqueuse d'aluminium et d'une source aqueuse de magnésium avec une solution alcaline et/ou contenant de la soude sous agitation à haut cisaillement. On utilise comme source d'aluminium un extrait dérivé de l'extraction d'argiles par des acides minéraux forts dans la production de terre décolorante. Le produit peut être facilement séparé et directement utilisé comme adsorbant pour différents anions.
