CLAIMS

A smoke barrier system (1) comprising at least two brackets (2), a glass panel (6) and fastener means (3).

wherein the glass panel (6) comprises at least two holes (61 ) and

wherein the fastener means (3) is equipped to fasten the bracket (2) to the hole

(61) of the glass panel (6), in particular wherein the fastener means (3) are equipped to fasten a first bracket (2) to a first hole (61) of the glass panel (6) and a second bracket (2) to a second hole (61 ) of the glass panel (6);

wherein the brackets (2) are equipped to be fixed to a supporting construction on which the smoke barrier system (1) is to be installed,

wherein the smoke barrier system (1) further comprises at least two first washer (4),

wherein the washer (4) is arranged between the fastener means (3) and the glass panel (6);

wherein the washer (4) is an intumescent washer (4),

wherein the intumescent washer (4) expands under thermal influence of a fire, hot smoke, and/or hot gas and forms a thermally insulating layer,

wherein under thermal influence the intumescent washer (4) build up additional pressure between the fastener means (3) and the glass panel (6).

The smoke barrier system (1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the washer (4) is arranged on the side of the glass panel (6) facing the temperature influence.

The smoke barrier system (1 ) according any one of the previous claims, further comprising a second washer (4) arranged between the fastener means (3) and the glass panel (6), wherein the second washer (4) is arranged vis-a-vis of the first washer (4), wherein the second washer (4) is an intumescent washer (4).

4. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, further comprising a grommet (5), wherein the grommet (5) arrangeable in the hole (61).

5. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the smoke barrier system (1 ) is a static smoke barrier system (1 ).

6. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the glass panel (6) is a transparent and/or translucent glass panel (6).

7. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the glass panel (6) is a monolithic glass panel (6).

8. The smoke barrier system ( 1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the glass panel (6) is a temperature resistant glass panel (6) and wherein the smoke barrier system (1) is classified at least as a D6oo 30 and/or DH 30 smoke barrier according to EN 12101 -1.

9. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the bracket (2) is designed for a point fixation of the glass panel (6).

10. The smoke barrier system (1) according to any one of the previous claims, wherein the smoke barrier system (1) comprises at least two panels (6) , wherein each glass panel (6) fixed to the supporting construction by a bracket (2), and

wherein the panels (6) are arranged adjacent to each other to build a uniform smoke barrier system

1 1. Method for fixing a smoke barrier system (1) to a supporting construction, comprising the steps of:

- providing a bracket (2) designed to be fixed to a supporting construction on which the smoke barrier system (1) is installed,

- fixing the brackets (2) to the supporting construction,

- providing a glass panel (6) , wherein the glass panel (6) comprises at least two holes (61). and

- providing a grommets (5),

- inserting the grommet (5) into the holes (61),

- providing fastener means (3) for fastening the bracket (2) to the hole (61 ) of the glass panel (6);

- providing a first, intumescent washer (4), wherein the intumescent washer (4) expands under thermal influence of a fire, hot smoke and/or hot gas,

- fastening the glass panel (6) to the brackets (2), wherein the washer (4) is arranged between the fastener means (3) and the glass panel (6) and the fastener means (3) is inserted into the hole (61) and the washer (4), wherein the fastener means (3) is clamping the glass panel (6) against the brackets (2).

12. Method according to claim 1 1 , wherein an additional intumescent washer (4) is provided, said additional washer (4) is arranged on the opposite side of the hole (61) opposite to the first washer (4), wherein the fastener means (3) is inserted into the hole (61) passing both washers (4) arranged on opposing sides of the glass panel (6).
