Abstract
(EN) In one embodiment, radiotherapy treatment is provided to a target volume of a patient by configuring a multileaf collimator of a radiation treatment machine in a first orientation so as to form an actual aperture having a first orientation, delivering radiation to the target volume through the actual aperture while in the first orientation with a single pass along an arcuate path centered on the target volume, configuring the multileaf collimator in a second orientation so as to place the actual aperture in a second orientation that is different from the first orientation, and delivering radiation to the target volume through the actual aperture while in the second orientation with a single pass back along the arcuate path such that a relatively large cumulative dose of radiation is delivered to the target volume through a virtual aperture created by an area of overlap between the first and second actual aperture orientations.
(FR) Dans un mode de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un traitement par radiothérapie qui est fourni à un volume cible d'un patient par configuration d'un collimateur multilame d'une machine de radiothérapie dans une première orientation, afin de former une ouverture réelle ayant une première orientation, par exposition du volume cible au rayonnement à travers l'ouverture réelle au cours de la première orientation au moyen d'un seul passage le long d'un trajet arqué centré sur le volume cible, par configuration du collimateur multilame dans une seconde orientation pour placer l'ouverture réelle dans une seconde orientation qui est différente de la première orientation et par exposition du volume cible au rayonnement à travers l'ouverture réelle au cours de la seconde orientation au moyen d'un seul passage en retour le long du trajet arqué, de sorte qu'une dose cumulative de rayonnements relativement grande soit administrée au volume cible à travers une ouverture virtuelle créée par une zone de chevauchement entre les première et seconde orientations d'ouverture réelle.
