(EN): The present technology relates to a transmission device, transmission method, receiving device, and receiving method, with which a transmission control signal can be transmitted more reliably. Provided is a transmission device comprising a transmission unit which: includes a first transmission control signal corresponding to a first standard in a first broadcast signal which includes a first content signal corresponding to the first standard and a second content signal corresponding to a second standard and transmits same via a first transmission antenna; and includes a second transmission control signal corresponding to the second standard in a second broadcast signal which includes the second content signal and transmits same via a second transmission antenna. As an example, the present technology can be applied to a transmission system which is compatible with a broadcast standard such as ISDB-T.
