(EN): A cable crawling device is disclosed which can be driven along a tensioned cable (25) for the purpose of maintenance, inspection or treatment of the cable by means of appropriate units attached to the crawler. The device has two housings (1, 2) each of which includes an endless track loop each link of which includes a shoe (19) with a central relief portion for engagement against one side of the cable. The two housings are arranged opposite one another so that the cable lies between the two tracks in the respective housings. Drive means such as an hydraulic motor (3) are connected to drive the tracks to cause the crawler to move along the cable.
(FR): L'invention concerne un dispositif à chenille pour câble qui peut être entraîné le long d'un câble tendu (25) en vue de la maintenance, de l'inspection ou du traitement du câble au moyen d'unités appropriées fixées à la chenille. Le dispositif comporte deux logements (1, 2) dont chacun comprend une boucle sans fin de chenille dont chaque maillon comprend un sabot (19) pourvu d'une partie centrale en relief destinée à venir en prise contre un côté du câble. Les deux logements sont disposés en regard l'un de l'autre de sorte que le câble repose entre les deux chenilles dans les logements respectifs. Des moyens d'entraînement tels qu'un moteur hydraulique (3) sont reliés pour entraîner les chenilles de façon à provoquer leur déplacement le long du câble.
