本発明は、発光成分用積層体、具体的には、互いが発光領域に接続した、ホール注入コンタクト及び電子注入コンタクトを有する燐光有機発光ダイオードであり、上記発光領域では、1つの発光層が物質(M1)から作製され、他の発光層は物質(M2)から作製され、物質(M1)は両極性であり、ホールを優先的に輸送し、物質(M2)は両極性であり、電子を優先的に輸送し、上記発光領域における物質(M1)と物質(M2)とからへテロ遷移を形成し、物質(M1)と物質(M2)との間の界面は、ねじれタイプIIによるものであり、物質(M1)及び物質(M2)は、それぞれ少なくとも1つの三重項エミッタドーパントが添加されており、物質(M1)から物質(M2)へのホール輸送のエネルギー障壁、及び物質(M2)から物質(M1)への電子輸送のエネルギー障壁が、それぞれ約0.5eV未満である。
