According to the invention, the material layer is transferred to the information support (12) at the position where an information stored on the information support (12) is to be covered. The transfer of material layers to information supports by means of ultrasonic sonotrodes enables operations to be carried out in an easy and rapid manner at low temperatures. The ultrasonic sonotrodes operate preferably in a frequency range of 15000 to 35000 Hz. The information support (12) can also be configured as a support that receives a material layer without an information on the support being covered.
