What Is Claimed Is:

Invention #19

1. A computer-implemented method for reactive encounter scanning, executed on a computing device, comprising:

obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;

receiving a request from a user concerning a specific medical condition; in response to receiving the request, processing the encounter information to determine if the encounter information is indicative of the specific medical condition and to generate a result set; and

providing the result set to the user.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein receiving a request from a user includes one or more of:

receiving a verbal request from the user concerning the specific medical condition; and

receiving a text-based request from the user concerning the specific medical condition.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein processing the encounter information includes:

identifying one or more portions of the encounter information that concern the specific medical condition, thus defining one or more condition-related encounter potions.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 wherein processing the encounter information further includes:

filtering the encounter information to highlight the one or more condition- related encounter portions.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering a visual representation of the result set for the user.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering an audible representation of the result set for the user.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein obtaining encounter information includes one or more of:

utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a pre-visit portion of the patient encounter; and utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a post-visit portion of the patient encounter.

8. A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;

receiving a request from a user concerning a specific medical condition; in response to receiving the request, processing the encounter information to determine if the encounter information is indicative of the specific medical condition and to generate a result set; and

providing the result set to the user.

9. The computer program product of claim 8 wherein receiving a request from a user includes one or more of:

receiving a verbal request from the user concerning the specific medical condition; and

receiving a text-based request from the user concerning the specific medical condition.

10. The computer program product of claim 8 wherein processing the encounter information includes:

identifying one or more portions of the encounter information that concern the specific medical condition, thus defining one or more condition-related encounter potions.

11. The computer program product of claim 10 wherein processing the encounter information further includes:

filtering the encounter information to highlight the one or more condition- related encounter portions.

12. The computer program product of claim 8 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering a visual representation of the result set for the user.

13. The computer program product of claim 8 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering an audible representation of the result set for the user.

14. The computer program product of claim 8 wherein obtaining encounter information includes one or more of:

utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a pre-visit portion of the patient encounter; and utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a post-visit portion of the patient encounter.

15. A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

obtaining encounter information of a patient encounter;

receiving a request from a user concerning a specific medical condition; in response to receiving the request, processing the encounter information to determine if the encounter information is indicative of the specific medical condition and to generate a result set; and

providing the result set to the user.

16. The computing system of claim 15 wherein receiving a request from a user includes one or more of:

receiving a verbal request from the user concerning the specific medical condition; and

receiving a text-based request from the user concerning the specific medical condition.

17. The computing system of claim 15 wherein processing the encounter information includes:

identifying one or more portions of the encounter information that concern the specific medical condition, thus defining one or more condition-related encounter potions.

18. The computing system of claim 17 wherein processing the encounter information further includes:

filtering the encounter information to highlight the one or more condition- related encounter portions.

19. The computing system of claim 15 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering a visual representation of the result set for the user.

20. The computing system of claim 15 wherein providing the result set to the user includes:

rendering an audible representation of the result set for the user.

21. The computing system of claim 15 wherein obtaining encounter information includes one or more of:

utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a pre-visit portion of the patient encounter; and utilizing a virtual assistant to prompt the patient to provide at least a portion of the encounter information during a post-visit portion of the patient encounter.
