A61K 36/8945
PCT/PH2014/000005LEANO, Milagros B.LEANO, Milagros B.
The present invention, comprised of the crude aqueous extract of Dioscorea hispida, an indigenous plant from the Philippines, has been shown to have sedative, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects. The sedative effect is comparable to sodium barbiturate, a potent sedative and anaesthetic, with D. hispida having a faster onset of lethargy. Moreover, significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects are comparable to indomethacin and aspirin. As such, this technology may be applied for general or localized anaesthesia, sleeping pills, pain killers, and modulation of inflammation.

3. WOWO/2014/126487 - DIAGNOSIS AND DETECTION OF DENGUE VIRUS INFECTION USING CHICKEN EGG ANTIBODIES21.08.2014
G01N 33/569
PCT/PH2014/000006YU, Gracia, Fe, B.YU, Gracia, Fe, B.
The management of dengue requires an early and accurate diagnosis. With the advantages of providing high sensitivity for clinical and point-of-care flexibility, an invention utilizing the use of chicken egg antibodies is presented, which can be used for various platforms to detect the envelope protein of the dengue virus in biological samples such as blood, serum, plasma and urine. Such antibodies can be applied in various platforms, such as immunoassays, immunostaining and blotting procedures.

4. WOWO/2014/123432 - SMALL-SCALE THERMOPLASTIC RECYCLING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIBER STRANDS FOR INSULATION14.08.2014
B29B 17/00
PCT/PH2014/000002DAVID, Rene, P.DAVID, Rene, P.
The invention describes a small-scale thermoplastic recycling apparatus and method in producing fiber strands used as an alternative for -insulation. The claimed invention is a small-scale recycling thermoplastic apparatus with two components, mainly, the extruder and the spinner. The extruder accepts and melts the shredded thermoplastic to produce a continuous flow of molten plastic called extrudate. The extrudate is fed to the spinner through a nozzle. Using centrifugal force, molten plastic passes through perforated holes of the spinner producing the individual fiber strands. The said thermoplastic recycling apparatus is capable of recycling polypropylene (PP) plastic, PET plastic, HDPE plastics and LDPE plastics. The produced thermoplastic fiber strands may be used as an alternative material for insulation such as low thermal insulation, sound proofing and packaging.

5. WOWO/2014/120026 - TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF ACNE07.08.2014
A61K 38/16
PCT/PH2013/000006SANTOS, Joyce Bedelia, B.SANTOS, Joyce Bedelia, B.
The invention provides a method for the treatment and prevention of acne comprising the oral administration of lactoferrin, preferably combined with vitamin E and Zinc, wherein the lactoferrin is not isolated from whey.

6. WOWO/2014/116125 - INSULATED FIREBRICK OVEN FOR WOOD, CHARCOAL, GAS OR OTHER BIOMASS MATERIALS31.07.2014
A47J 37/06
PCT/PH2013/000012YU, Julian, G.YU, Julian, G.
This invention relates to an insulated firebrick oven adapted for using wood, charcoal, gas or other biomass materials for cooking bread, cookies, roasted meat, pizzas and the like that includes a moveable stand having an anchoring member; and a combustion chamber assembly removably held on top of said anchoring member and having an insulated firebrick food compartment provided with a chimney and an inside heat balancer, and further having a slidably mounted pull-out firebox provided with a pull-out ash tray.

7. WOWO/2014/112887 - A LIQUID CONTAINING MEANS24.07.2014
B65D 75/58
PCT/PH2013/000001GO, Wilson, DyGO, Wilson, Dy
This invention relates to a liquid containing means (10) intended for food-grade content and allows drinking without the use of drinking straw. The liquid containing means comprises a containing body (11) made from a pair of identical elongated tapering sheets being sealed around their edges The elongated tapering sheets define a narrower top and a wider base. The narrower top defines a tearable tip (17) over a tearing line (18) provided thereat. The wider base defines a flat floor to allow the liquid containing means to be positioned in an upright form: Another tearing line (20) is provided along the neck portion of the liquid containing means when the containing means is adapted for frozen liquid products.

8. WOWO/2014/112888 - A METHOD OF IMPROVING ENERGY USAGE WITH POSITIVE NET SAVINGS AT END OF LIFE OF EXISTING INSTALLED AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS24.07.2014
F24F 3/06
PCT/PH2014/000001DELA CRUZ, MoisesDELA CRUZ, Moises
This is a collection of devices that is used to augment the existing components of an installed air conditioning or refrigeration system to reduce its energy usage. Large portion of the energy usage are increasingly getting expensive, installation of the upgrade on existing air condition and refrigeration units which are a major user of electric energy has immediate impact on the national economic problem since the installed base on these equipments are about 2.5 to 3.5 times the market for new equipment. It has the added benefit of providing positive net saving for the user for the remaining statistical life of the equipment. It would generate a large number of jobs in time with the prevailing economic situation. It is a simple process to install and can be provided as a kit that can be installed by HVAC technicians.
